I say that on every page of this site because you deserve to know what you're listening to. Here's the full process, step by step.
1. It starts with a feeling, not a prompt
Every track begins the same way: a mood I want to create. Weightless drift for deep sleep. Warm light through clouds. The quiet of 3 AM. I think about who will listen and when — someone trying to fall asleep, someone meditating before dawn, someone who needs an hour of calm to work inside. That intention shapes everything that follows.
2. AI-assisted composition
Using Suno (on a paid plan, which covers commercial use), I generate compositional starting points guided by that intention — textures, harmonic beds, atmospheric movements. Think of it the way a photographer thinks of raw exposures: the camera captures the light, but the photograph isn't finished yet. I typically generate many variations for every track I keep. Most of what comes out never leaves my hard drive.
3. Human curation — the ruthless part
This is where the real work lives. I listen to everything with fresh ears and ask hard questions: Does this hold still? Does it evolve without surprising? Would I fall asleep to this — or would it wake me at the wrong moment? Roughly nine out of ten generations get discarded. What survives is the material with genuine atmosphere — the pieces that already feel like somewhere you'd want to be.
4. Arrangement and finishing by hand
Surviving material gets shaped into finished tracks: selecting the strongest sections, smoothing transitions, building seamless loops where a track needs to run for an hour, and mastering for consistent, gentle playback — no sudden volume jumps, no harsh frequencies, nothing that startles. For the sleep music especially, I check every track the way a listener would experience it: lights out, volume low, full length.
5. Release
Finished tracks go to Spotify and the other streaming platforms, and the sleep-focused material also feeds Deep Sleep Radio — my nightly ambient stream. Lyrics pages, when a track has words, carry the same disclosure you'll find here.
Why I tell you all this
Some artists hide the AI part. I don't, for two reasons. First, honesty: if you knew and I hadn't told you, that would be a breach of trust, and trust is the whole business. Second, pride in the human part: the curation, the arrangement, the obsessive listening — that's craft, and it's mine. The tool changed; the ear didn't.
